We plan layouts around what the property actually looks like at night — walking it after dark before finalizing anything — rather than defaulting to a generic number of fixtures per linear foot.
Permanent systems and seasonal holiday lighting solve different problems and are installed differently — permanent fixtures are wired into a low-voltage transformer for year-round use, holiday lighting is a temporary install taken down after the season. Both get planned around the same principle: light the architecture and landscape on purpose, not just spray light at the house.

Walk the property after dark
We walk the property at night before finalizing a layout — architecture, trees, and walkways all read differently after dark than they do in a daytime photo.

Plan fixture placement and zones
Fixtures get planned by what they're highlighting, not spaced evenly — a mature tree, an architectural feature, and a walkway all call for different fixture types, angles, and distances.

Run low-voltage wiring
Wiring is trenched and run to a transformer sized for the full fixture load, with capacity to add zones later without rewiring everything.

Install and aim fixtures
Fixtures go in and get aimed and adjusted after dark, on-site — this is the step a lot of installs skip, and it's the difference between lighting that looks intentional and light that's just aimed at the house.

Walk it again and hand off controls
We walk the finished system with you at night, show you the app or timer controls, and set the schedule before we leave.
